Prior to one of our Hamilton performances in Puerto Rico, we put together a little diddy for the company.
During our month playing Hamilton in Puerto Rico, I’d regularly spend 20-30 minutes each day walking to and from the theater. As I’m walking I’d typically be practicing the pandeiro (nerdy, I know, but I don’t really care). On this one particular day some snotty teenage girl walks by with her mom and makes fun of me with an over-the-top sarcastic “yeaaaaah”. The next day this happened: I’m playing pandeiro backing up Lin-Manuel Miranda, alongside the incredibly talented Dave Mac Nab and broadway MD Kurt Crowley.
